Review: Tokidoki Prisma Gloss & Clinique Brush on Cream Liner

Tokidoki Prisma Gloss

I have this gloss in the colour "Devil Girl". I bought this at Sephora for $20 and there is 8mL of product. The packaging is actually very cute, the brush handle has a little character inside of it with confetti that you can shake around. The applicator is a flexible plastic paddle shaped applicator and I find that it works very well with this gloss.

The pigmentation of the product is on the sheer side, but I believe all of the glosses were made to be this way. This is a sheer red colour so there is a bit more pigmentation than the other colours this gloss comes in. The smell is also very sweet, almost like a blueberry candy so if you like sweet scents you will love this gloss. I personally love the scent, it was one of the reasons I wanted to purchase this lip gloss. One of the best parts of this gloss is that it is very smooth and not sticky at all. The texture just feels like a slightly thicker lip balm. I find that this gloss is very moisturising on my lips and it does no accentuate any dryness I have on my lips.

Overall, I really love this gloss. The scent and the texture is amazing, and it gives a little bit of sheer colour which I love. You get quite a large amount of product so I think the price is worth it and the packaging really adds something extra to it. I have had this gloss for over a year and still have just over half the product left.

PROS:
  • Great applicator
  • Sheer colour for those who like less pigmentation for their lips
  • Very smooth and moisturising formula
  • Nice sweet berry candy scent
  • Really cute packaging
  • Large amount of product
CONS:
  • Not extremely pigmented (for those who like very pigmented colours for their lips)
  • Not very many colours to choose from

Clinique Brush on Cream Liner

I have this liner in the colour "True Black". I purchased this at Sephora for $16 and it comes with 5g of product. I have tried many gel liners in the past but they dry up pretty quickly, but this liner stays extremely creamy and emollient for a long long time. Because of the creaminess it is very easy to get a good amount of product onto your brush to line your eyes with.

I found that this liner is quite pigmented, as you can see in the photos I drew 2 lines on my hand and both were just 1 stroke. The lines were both solid and pigmented. This liner lasts fairly well on me as long as I have a primer on my eyelids. I do have deep folding double eyelids and my eyelids tend to get oily throughout the day so sometimes I get some transfer of the liner up where my crease is. If you have drier eyelids or you do not have double eyelids then this shouldn't be a problem for you. This liner typically does not smudge or wear off on me at all throughout the day.

Overall, I love the creaminess of this cream liner as well as the pigmentation. You get a very large amount of product for a relatively low price so I think that this product is well worth it.

PROS:
  • Goes on smooth and pigmented
  • Large amount of product for reasonable price
  • Won't dry out in the jar
  • Much creamier than gel liners
  • No smudging or wearing off
CONS:
  • Can crease on oily lids or deep folding double eyelids
